چکیده

In this paper, Java programming with applets for internet-based control education of two mechanical systems are presented. First, a new multi-objective optimization method is applied to obtain the Pareto frontiers of some non-commensurable objective functions in the design of linear state feedback controllers for an inverted pendulum and a ball–beam system. Second, the simulations of the problems were developed with Java applets and its results are given. The obtained results and analyses demonstrate that this multi-objective method presented in this paper operates very well in terms of convergence speed, global optimality, solution accuracy, and algorithm reliability. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd. Pareto Optimal Design Of Decoupled Sliding Mode Control Based On A New Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

One of the most important applications of multi-objective optimization is adjusting parameters ofpractical engineering problems in order to produce a more desirable outcome. In this paper, the decoupled sliding mode control technique (DSMC) is employed to stabilize an inverted pendulum which is a classic example of inherently unstable systems. Furthermore, a new Multi-Objective Particle Swarm O...

Solution of Multi-Objective optimal reactive power dispatch using pareto optimality particle swarm optimization method

For multi-objective optimal reactive power dispatch (MORPD), a new approach is proposed where simultaneous minimization of the active power transmission loss, the bus voltage deviation and the voltage stability index of a power system are achieved. Optimal settings of continuous and discrete control variables (e.g. generator voltages, tap positions of tap changing transformers and the number of...

Modeling and Hybrid Pareto Optimization of Cyclone Separators Using Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)

In present study, a three-step multi-objective optimization algorithm of cyclone separators is catered for the design objectives. First, the pressure drop (Dp) and collection efficiency (h) in a set of cyclone separators are numerically evaluated. Secondly, two meta models based on the evolved Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) type neural networks are regarded to model the Dp and h as the re...

Pareto design of fuzzy tracking control based on the particle swarm optimization algorithm for a walking robot in the lateral plane on slope

Many researchers have controlled and analyzed biped robots that walk in the sagittal plane. Nevertheless, walking robots require the capability to walk merely laterally, when they are faced with the obstacles such as a wall. In walking robot field, both nonlinearity of the dynamic equations and also having a tracking system cause an effective control has to be utilized to address these problems...

Multi-Objective Optimization of Solar Thermal Energy Storage Using Hybrid of Particle Swarm Optimization and Multiple Crossover and Mutation Operator

Increasing of net energy storage (Q net) and discharge time of phase change material (t PCM), simultaneously, are important purpose in the design of solar systems. In the present paper, Multi-Objective (MO) based on hybrid of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and multiple crossover and mutation operator is used for Pareto based optimization of solar systems. The conflicting objectives are Q net...
